Political hip hop and conscious rap are a form of social expression, which highlight the injustices in our society and give a voice to the voiceless. This art form continues to inspire action and reverses the miseducation that Lauryn Hill and Carter G. Woodson evidence in their music and book respectively. This illustration series pays tribute to the revolutionary rappers who motivate me.
Lowkey, Akua Naru and many more coming soon. I love to hear suggestions of other revolutionary rappers that I should include… so feel free to send me your ideas at firstname.lastname@example.org
